How to Find Rye Hill Farm, Slaley, Hexham, Northumberland NE47 0AH
Rye Hill farm is situated deep in the heart of the amazing Northumbrian countryside, yet is still only 30 minutes by car from Newcastle upon Tyne.
We are about 15 minutes off the A69 trunk road which runs from Newcastle upon Tyne to Carlisle, just 5 miles South of the historic town of Hexham.
Directions from the north
Approach from the North will likely be from one of three routes:
- Via M6 in which case follow directions from the west
- Via A1 in Which case drive all the way down to A69 Junction 75 signposted A69 Hexham and take the 3rd exit towards Hexham and follow the instructions from the East
- Via A68 in which case drive down to the Corbridge Stagshaw roundabout:

- Go straight ahead on Stagshaw road into Corbridge centre.
- Turn onto B6321 Heading out of Corbridge and over the River Tyne.
- After crossing the river, take the second exit at the roundabout staying on B6321.
- After 0.4 miles turn left signed for Blanchland and Slaley.
- After 0.3 miles turn right onto A696 signed Slaley and Hexham.
- After only 200 feet turn left onto B6307 signed Blanchland and Slaley.
- After 2.1 miles at a T junction, turn left onto B6306 signed Blanchland and Slaley.
- After 2.1 miles – after passing the Travellers Rest Pub on your left, turn right where you see our sign for Rye Hill Farm and a signpost for Ladycross
- The turn in to the farm is now only yards up the road on your right and is clearly signposted.
Directions from the south
- From A1(M) Take exit 58 Signposted A68 Darlington, Bishop Auckland and Corbridge. You are now approx. 35 miles and about 50 minutes from us.
- At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto A68 Corbridge.
- After 1.6 miles at the roundabout take the 1st exit at the roundabout and stay on A68
- After 5.9 miles at the roundabout take the 1st exit and stay on A68.
- After 0.2 miles at the roundabout take 2nd exit again staying on A68.
- After 1.6 miles Turn left to stay on A68 signposted A68 Corbridge.
- After 5.6 miles at the roundabout take 2nd exit staying on A68.
- After 14.3 miles take a slight left turn onto signposted Slaley and Derwent Reservoir.
- After 1.3 miles at the T junction turn left signposted Slaley and Blanchland.
- After 4.2 miles and coming Through Slaley Village, turn right at the T junction.
- After 0.2 miles turn left where you see our sign for Rye Hill Farm and a signpost for Ladycross
- The turn in to the farm is now only yards up the road on your right and is clearly signposted.
Directions from the east
- Heading West from Newcastle on the A69 you will arrive at styford roundabout joining the A68 to the A69. Take the second exist signposted Corbridge B6530 – you are now 8 miles and about 17 minutes from us.
- After 2.4 miles turn left onto B6321 Heading out of Corbridge and over the River Tyne.
- After crossing the river, take the second exit at the roundabout staying on B6321.
- After 0.4 miles turn left signed for Blanchland and Slaley.
- After 0.3 miles turn right onto A696 signed Slaley and Hexham.
- After only 200 feet turn left onto B6307 signed Blanchland and Slaley.
- After 2.1 miles at a T junction, turn left onto B6306 signed Blanchland and Slaley.
- After 2.1 miles – after passing the Travellers Rest Pub on your left, turn right where you see our sign for Rye Hill Farm a d a signpost for Ladycross
- The turn in to the farm is now only yards up the road on your right and is clearly signposted.
Directions from the west
- Heading East from Carlisle on the A69 take the Right turn onto B6531 signed for Hexham (West) – you are now 7 miles and about 15 minutes from us.
- After 1.7 miles take a left onto B6305 Heading into Hexham
- After 0.3 miles at the Tap and Spile pub – take a right onto Eastgate B6306
- After 4.7 miles – after passing the Travellers Rest Pub on your left, turn right where you see our sign for Rye Hill Farm a d a signpost for Ladycross
- The turn in to the farm is now only yards up the road on your right and is clearly signposted.
